A third generation Colorado native I am passionate about making Colorado, and in particular Glenwood Springs – cause I happen to love living there – the best possible place it can be. I am a rusty writer who is trying to dust off some seldom used and questionable-to-begin-with skills. My purpose? It is two fold. I would like to give folks a place to discuss the good, the bad and the ugly of living in our small town. My hope is that there will be more good than bad and very little ugly . . . but nevertheless, I want to hear it.
Why? For some strange reason, a few years ago I found myself wanting to “get involved.” So I did. I signed up for the City’s Financial Advisory Board and Victims and Law Enforcement Board. Years ago, my Dad was on the Planning and Zoning Commission in another town and was appointed to the State Planning Commission – which they have since done away with. At any rate, I felt the urge and so I applied and was appointed to the City of Glenwood Springs Planning Commission. That was in 2009.
I currently chair the Plannng Commission – so PLEASE do not write to me or on this blog concerning anything to do with ANY applications.
Because I find a strong connection between land use and transportation planning, I recently applied for an open position on the City Transportation Commission and was appointed. So . . . here we are.
Luckily (??) most of the meetings are in the wee hours of the morning or the dark of night because I still hold a full time job. I also have a very forgiving employer who apparently sees some value in community service.
I look forward to hearing from you!
